Quantcast 2009-2010 Chicago Bulls: Bulls vs Sixers

Chicago Bulls vs Philadelphia 76ers Recap

Reeling from two consecutive losses, the Bulls came out sluggish in the first quarter of Friday Night’s game. The 76ers dominated early with big performances from combo guard Lou Williams and star swingman Andre Igoudala and almost put the game away early. However, the Bulls rallied in the second quarter and kept the game close through the third. Beginning the fourth with a narrow 63-59 advantage, the Bulls took off and, led by Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich, went on a 14-4 run to go up 77-63. Though the 76ers rallied briefly behind Igoudala to trim the Bulls lead to 90-85 with less than two minutes left, the Bulls remained ahead and the game was never seriously in doubt.

It was a nice bounce back game for the Bulls who suffered two consecutive defeats earlier this week and would have fallen under .500 with a loss on Friday. The strong team effort, with six players (Deng, Hinrich, Salmons, Rose, Noah, and Miller) in double figures, bodes well for a team that has struggled to score this season (90 ppg) but has held teams opponents to only 92 ppg. However, while last night was an encouraging win, it did nothing to change the fact that the Bulls, while capable at home (5-1) are awful on the road (0-3). With a six game Western Conference road trip coming up, the Bulls will need to learn to win on the road quickly or they could find themselves in the Eastern Conference basement by the middle of next week.
