Quantcast 2009-2010 Boston Celtics: Celtics vs Raptors

Celtics Get Back In The Winners Circle

After suffering a loss to the up and rising Hawks, the Celtics bounce back and get a W against the Raptors on Sunday. Boston has beaten the Raptors twice already this season. Containing Chris Bosh was not a task that the C’s did well in this one as he went for 31 points along with 13 rebounds and 4 assists. He is a match-up nightmare for many 4’s in this league. Sounds a lot like Boston’s Kevin Garnett right? Unfortunately for the Celtics he is going to be out for what Doc Rivers says another week or so with his knee injury. For the Celtics Rajon Rondo had a superstar game with 22 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals. The point guard from Kentucky leads the NBA in steals with 2.52 per game.

Steve Nash, Chris Paul, Deron Williams and Rajon Rondo are the league's top assist men. Steve, Chris and Deron are all stars, why not Rondo? Rondo handles the rock for one of the leagues marquee teams and he played a huge role in the Celtics winning it all in 2008. He is 23 years old. In these next upcoming years I think we will see Rondo in an all-star uniform.

Kendrick Perkins is one of the unsung heroes for the Celtics each and every night. Today he had a solid game with 16 points 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. He is among the league leaders in that category with nearly 2 a game. Both teams had ok scoring help from their benches. The 3-point machine Eddie House came in and had 11 points in 16 minutes without a turnover. That’s what you need as a championship team. He is a backup point guard that takes care of the ball and can get you points. Before winning the NBA title in 08, Eddie has played for the Heat, Clippers, Bucks, Kings, Bobcats, Suns and the Nets. He seems to like it in Boston because it’s the longest time he has played for one place since beginning his career in Miami.
