Rockets 101 vs Bucks 98 - Game Recap
The Houston Rockets needed overtime for the second time in three games to squeak out wins against weaker competition, this time in a 101-98 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Houston won a triple-overtime game on January 13 against Minnesota. The Rockets gave up 34 points to the Bucks in the first quarter, 10 points of which belong to a productive Brandon Jennings—who also dished out four assists in the quarter. Jennings finished with 25 points to go along with seven assists.
Andrew Bogut added 18 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks—tying a season-high. Milwaukee has lost five of the last six games, giving up more than 100 points in five straight contests. After producing its own seven-point lead to go into halftime, Houston suffered another breakdown in the fourth, this time on the offensive end, but rallied back to force overtime. In the extra period, it was Houston’s big men that prevailed.
Carl Landry scored five of his 12 points in extra time, while Luis Scola bucketed four of his game-high 27 points in overtime. Landry and Scola also had seven and 15 rebounds respectively. Houston takes a short trip to play San Antonio before returning home for six games in the Toyota Center.
