Quantcast 2009-2010 Houston Rockets: Rockets vs Hawks

Atlanta Hawks @ Houston Rockets Preview

The Houston Rockets have yet to find its groove in 2010, going just 4-6 so far with just a single road victory. The opponents lining up don’t get any easier though, when they welcome the young and impressive Atlanta Hawks to the Toyota Center.

The Hawks have not won in Houston in over seven years, losing on an average of 101-85 each contest.

But this is a different Atlanta team of late, winning seven of its last nine games while demonstrating a prolific offense.

Atlanta rested over the weekend after finishing a 4-1, five-game homestand with a telling 103-89 win against the Bobcats. The Hawks dished out 32 assists as a team on 42 field goals at a 51.2 percent clip.

Houston lost Saturday to the Chicago Bulls 104-97 in a poor defensive effort, allowing the resurgent Bulls to shoot 53.4 percent from the field. Luis Scola and Aaron Brooks scored 20 points apiece, while Carl Landry and Chase Budinger added 22 and 15 respectively.

The rest of Houston’s players shot just 7-of-28 from the floor.

The Rockets’ next four opponents on average are 11 games above .500.
