Houston Rockets @ San Antonio Spurs Preview
The Houston Rockets look to win two games in a row for the first time in almost a month when they make a short trip to San Antonio to take on the Spurs in their second matchup this season. The last time the Rockets won two straight was before the New Year when they reeled off home wins against New Orleans and Dallas. Just the second contest against a Southwest Division opponent this month, Houston is just 4-4 again division foes and sits four and a half games back of the leader, Dallas.
Houston last played on Monday when they beat the Milwaukee Bucks 101-98 in overtime. Luis Scola matched a season-high with 27 points and added 15 rebounds. Aaron Brooks had a poor shooting night, but finished with 10 assists. The Spurs have lost three of their last four games after losing just four times in the previous nineteen matchups. San Antonio is in the middle of a six game homestand, where they are 17-7 at the AT&T Center, but have not beaten a division opponent since they beat the Rockets in Houston in November.
The Rockets hope to win for the first time on the road since beating New Jersey the day after Christmas and are just 2-8 in their last 10 games away from home.
