Quantcast 2009-2010 Houston Rockets: Rockets vs Timberwolves

Timberwolves @ Rockets - Preview

The Houston Rockets return home where they are winners of seven straight in the Toyota Center. They retreat with a sigh of relief after dropping its fourth straight road contest last night against the Charlotte Bobcats.

Despite a ten-point first half lead, the Rockets failed to keep Bobcats’ forward Stephen Jackson at bay, who scored a career-high 43 points in a comeback victory.

Houston shot just 41.7 percent from the field, with Aaron Brooks going 3-of-14.

The Rockets play host to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who occupy the cellar in the West. The Timberwolves are just 3-16 on the road this season, where they surrender an average of 108.8 points to the opposition.

They have won just three of their last 12 games and have allowed their opponent to score over 100 points in eight straight contests.

Minnesota is also the worst scoring offense in the conference, bucketing just over 96 points per game.

In the Timberwolves’ recent loss to Denver, Corey Brewer scored 25 points, while shooting 41.7 percent from deep in his last three games.

Houston, looking to get back to its home-winning ways, already beat Minnesota earlier this season in Minneapolis 97-84, where the Rockets were 12-of-28 from behind the arc. Luis Scola had 20 points and 16 rebounds that night.

The Rockets have not lost a game to Minnesota since 2006 and are looking for their 10th straight victory over the Timberwolves.
