Quantcast 2009-2010 Oklahoma City Thunder: Thunder vs Grizzlies

Thunder @ Grizzlies - Preview

The Oklahoma City Thunder go for their fourth straight win against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night, as they look to continue building on a breakout season. The Thunder have won five of the last seven games, with the two losses coming against clubs from Texas.

After sneaking past with three- and two-point wins against Atlanta and Minnesota, the Thunder turn to a Memphis team that is on the rise of late.

Kevin Durant continues to build on his all-star resumé, posting a 31.4 point average in January to go with nearly eight rebounds a game. He is hitting 52.1 percent from the field, including 18-of-31 from behind the arc and 90.9 percent from the charity stripe.

In Oklahoma City’s last win against the Timberwolves, Durant had 31 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 11-11 from the line.

Russell Westbrook began the New Year in good fashion, averaging 19.2 points through the first seven games of 2010. But he has struggled from the field in the last three contests, putting up just 7.6 points per game at an abysmal 28 percent shooting. He has compensated by getting open looks for teammates, though, dishing out 9.7 assists in his last three matchups.

It does not get easier for the Thunder, as Memphis is one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now.

Since losing two straight dating back to the mid-December, the Grizzlies are 12-4 since and have won four of the last five.

These two clubs squared off earlier in December at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, with the Thunder triumphant in a 102-94 win.

Durant and Westbrook combined to put up 55 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists.
