Thunder 84 @ Grizzlies 86 - Recap
A potential game-winning three-point shot bricked off the back of the rim, leaving Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder with an 84-86 loss and a familiar position for the Memphis Grizzlies’ opponents. The clutch shot belonged to Rudy Gay, who knocked down a 20-footer with 1.3 seconds to go, leaving Durant little time his game-winning attempt. The Thunder failed to cool down one of the hottest squads in the league.
Memphis has won five of the last six and ten of the last 13 contests, keeping the status quo at the bottom of the Southwest Division standings. Durant scored 30 points, the 17 th straight game in which he recorded at least 25 points. Jeff Green added 15 points, with James Harden adding 13 points off the bench to join Green and Durant as the only Thunder players to score in double-digits.
Zach Randolph and Gay proved to be just enough though, scoring 25 points apiece. The Thunder’s road travels do not get easier, though. They take on LeBron James and Cleveland tomorrow night to close out its four-game road trip.
