Quantcast 2009-2010 Oklahoma City Thunder: Thunder vs Knicks

Knicks @ Thunder Preview

After their first loss in 2010 against an offensively productive Houston Rockets on Saturday, the New York Knicks look to get back on the winning side.

But they will have to hold down the Oklahoma City Thunder and the explosive Kevin Durant, fresh off of a 40-point performance—matching a season high—in a 108-102 triumph against the Indiana Pacers.

Three wins shy of matching last season’s total, the Thunder have won seven of their last nine, with Durant averaging 33 points over that stretch. Point guard Russell Westbrook is averaging 16.7 points, 8.5 assists and 6 rebounds during the streak.

The Knicks are playing well of late, winning three straight before Saturday’s loss, averaging over 109 points per contest.

Nate Robinson had 20 points against Houston, scoring off a bench that’s had some consistency and injury problems all season.

David Lee, who is having an all-star caliber season, had 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 dimes against the Rockets. Wilson Chandler scored 17 points, but had five turnovers. Sharpshooting power forward Danilo Gallinari was held to just 11 points and 1-of-4 shooting from behind the arc.

Al Harrington, who missed the last two games with a strained calf, could be back in the lineup. He is averaging 18 points a game this season.

Two potent offenses could end up in a shootout at the Ford Center.
