Mavericks @ Thunder - Game Preview
As the second half of the NBA season begins, teams will start pushing for playoff position. All-Star Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder return to action after the break as they host the new-look Dallas Mavericks.
Dallas completed a seven-player swap with the Washington Wizards over the weekend, sending Josh Howard, Drew Gooden, Quinton Ross and James Singleton to D.C. in exchange for Caron Butler, DeShawn Stevenson and Brendan Haywood—a premier post defender. The Thunder sit in sixth place in the West and have won six straight games to a franchise-best nine games above .500.
Durant finished the first-half of the season on a shooting spree, scoring at least 25 points in 25 consecutive games dating back to mid-December. He’s averaging 33.3 points a game during the Thunder’s winning streak. The Mavericks have won four of the last five against the Thunder, but are just 2-4 in their last six road contests.
