Mavericks 86 @ Thunder 99 - Game Recap
Maybe the Dallas Mavericks needed some more time off. In the first game back after the All-Star break, the Oklahoma City Thunder easily handled the Mavericks in the second half, using an 11-point third quarter advantage to propel them to its seventh straight win.
Kevin Durant led the Thunder in scoring with 25 points, marking the 26 th consecutive game he’s reached that mark. Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook and James Harden all added 17 points apiece. The Thunder defense set the tone coming out in the second half, holding Dallas to just three field goals in the third quarter as the Mavericks finished the quarter with just 11 points.
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 24 points. Newcomer Caron Butler added 13 points on just 4-of-16 shooting in his Dallas debut. Jason Terry scored 14 points off the bench, but shot poorly as well, going 4-of-15 from the field. Dallas as a team shot only 32.3 percent from the floor—a season low—as they dropped to 2-5 in its last seven road contests.
