Quantcast 2010-2011 Chicago Bulls Basketball: Bulls vs Nuggets

Bulls Top Nuggets In Chicago, Despite Season High 32 Points By Anthony

Despite a season high 32 points scored by Denver’s Carmelo Anthony, the Chicago Bulls (3-3) were able to come away with a victory at the United Center in Chicago. This was a great game that went back and forth with many lead changes throughout. The Denver Nuggets (4-3) outscored the Bulls in the 1st and 3rd quarters, while Chicago outscored Denver in the 2nd and 4th quarters, with the final outcome being Chicago 94, Denver 92.

Chicago Bulls center/forward Joakim Noah had another stellar outing and managed to get his 6th double double in as many games. Noah, who leads the NBA in rebounding averaging 15 per game, finished the game with 13 points, 19 rebounds, 4 blocks and 1 assist.

Joakim Noah, appearing on Chicago’s Comcast SportsNet after the game, was asked how he keeps managing double digits in scoring and rebounding every game, and responded, “I know that’s my role on this team, and that’s what is expected of me.” He also went on to add, “Its good to be able to win these close games.”

Chicago’s Derrick Rose didn’t have his usual spectacular night of scoring, but he did come up big in this game when it counted. Rose ended up scoring a team high total of 18 points in the game for Chicago, but 8 of those points came at a crucial time in the 4th quarter. Joakim Noah had warm words of praise for Rose after the game, compliments of ESPN. “Derrick Rose is our leader.” Noah went on to say, “His shot wasn’t falling tonight, but down the stretch, he put the game on his shoulders. That’s why he’s such a special player.”

The Bulls had five players score in double digits on the night. Besides Rose’s 18 and Noah’s 13, Loul Deng scored 17 points in the game, Taj Gibson pitched in with 16 points, and Keith Bogans rounded the double digit scoring for Chicago with 10 points.

Chicago improved its record at home to 3-1 on the season, and their next game is home at the United Center in Chicago, against the 5-2 Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.
