Heat Beat Celtics to Take the Series 4-1

The Heat may have entered this game 3-1 up, but they also entered it on the back of a win against a strong Boston Celtics team. That said, this was no easy task. In fact, the Heat trailed for most of the game.

Rajon Rondo may have been battling a dislocated elbow but early on in the game, he was well aware of the ‘do or die’ nature of this game for the Celtics and he showed off his one handed passing abilities to send Kevin Garnett to the basket on more than one occasion. Garnett finished the first quarter with 12 points but would not score another field goal until the fourth thanks to a great defensive adjustment from Erik Spoelstra and the Heat.

It wasn’t until Rondo collided with a Heat defender that he began to look injured and his performance started to hinder the Celtics as Miami backed off and allowed him to shoot. Doc Rivers kept him in the game nonetheless, in the hope that he would spring into action. He didn’t. Ray Allen did though. He had 18 points on the night and 5 three pointers, but this game was all about the ‘big three’.

Dwayne Wade kept their score total ticking over early on, while Lebron James went nuts in the fourth quarter to put the game to bed. Wade had 34, Lebron was just behind him with 33, while Chris Bosh almost mimicked his great performance in the previous game with 14 points and 11 rebounds along with a couple of blocks. Delonte West played well for the Celtics and looked dangerous as he threatened to take the game away from Miami in the fourth, but the team that had trailed all game came back to win it with Lebron James getting the last 10 points for the Heat, who finished on a 16-0 run. That would be enough to steal the game away from most teams, and it was enough in this one.

The Heat will take on the Chicago Bulls in the Conference Finals beginning on Monday night. This should be a great series, so stay tuned!

All the best from the UK!

Final Score (BOS) 87 – (MIA) 97
