Quantcast 2011 Los Angeles Lakers Basketball: Lakers @ San Antonio

Lakers Take Down Spurs to Continue Revenge Streak

The San Antonio Spurs may have won an astonishing 22 straight games at home but with the Lakers in town, the franchise record setting would end there.

The Spurs have certainly been on a hot streak with Tim Duncan coming off one of his most efficient games but the Lakers came ready to play and had taken over by the end of the first quarter, doubling up on the Spurs to lead 34-13.

Kobe’s hustle to the ball was very impressive. Kobe is a great basketball player and he becomes even better when he gets it in his head that he is going to score no matter what. He showed what a great rebounder he is as well, getting 7 while keeping his excellent points total ticking over with another high score of 26.

Pau Gasol was close on Kobe’s tail with 21 points and together they helped to avenge the two previous losses to the Spurs this season.

Shannon Brown once again did what he has been great at this season, bagging himself 12 points off the bench. He is a reliable source of points off the sideline and has become a valuable weapon for the Lakers who have now won 7 straight and are playing great basketball.

With the whole team hustling to the ball and fulfilling their respective roles, they are showing that they can win in spectacular fashion (against the Bobcats) as well as grind out victories. In this particular game, they simply outplayed their opponents and came away with a much deserved win. The Spurs are left with a broken home winning streak while the Lakers continue on their own hot streak.

All the best from the UK!

Final Score: (LAL) 99 – 83
