Lakers Beat the Suns in a Triple OT Thriller
It is true that the Lakers have won 13 of their last 14 games, but some wins come easier than others. This was certainly not an easy one. The loud crowd in Staples Center certainly got their moneys worth with the game lasting over three hours and featuring just about everything that a great basketball game has to offer. Lamar Odom, Ron Artest and Kobe Bryant all had monster games for the Lakers, as did Channing Frye, Marcin Gortat and of course Steve Nash who finished with a season high 20 assists for the Suns. Odom grabbed 16 boards and contributed massively to the scoring total by making tough baskets when they counted the most. Kobe did what he usually does which is play nearly flawless basketball and score 42 points. Meanwhile, on the Phoenix side of things, Channing Frye was having himself a career high night with 32 points and 14 rebounds. Double-Doubles everywhere!
The Lakers were taken really close, but it always feels great to win those tough games. It can certainly be draining, however, so we will see if this three-hour marathon game will take its toll in the game against the LA Clippers. This game could have gone either way, but in the end the Lakers were able to come away with the hard fought win. All the best from the UK! Final Score: (PHX) 137 – (LAL) – 139
