Quantcast 2011 Los Angeles Lakers Basketball: Lakers @ Minnesota

Lakers Have Too Much For the Timberwolves

With the Timberwolves being the best rebounding team in the NBA, it seemed that the Lakers would have their work cut out when their opposition began converting both offensive and defensive rebounds into points.

Minnesota kept up with the Lakers for three quarters and only trailed by four going into the fourth, where it fell apart. They began to miss shots and allowed the Lakers to capitalise, taking the margin to beyond 8 points. A deficit that Minnesota could not make up.

Gasol showed that he too can rebound and got 17 on the night, while Kobe went on a hot streak in the second half, bagging himself 20 points to take his overall total to 24.

Minnesota can take great heart from this performance. They played great defence, as usual, forcing the Lakers to make difficult shots, which they had a great deal of trouble doing. It is a wonder how a team can make just 37.5% of their shots and still win the game by a margin of 11 but the Lakers are masters at finding ways to win.

Kevin Love got another double-double making this his 47 th in a row with 13 points and 11 rebounds but in the end, the Lakers turned on the Jets when they needed to and ran away with the game in the fourth quarter.

Final Score: (LAL) 90 – (MIN) 79
