Celtics vs. Heat: The Scene after Game 5
FADE IN: Outside American Airlines Arena
LeBron James is walking to his SUV, his entourage waits quietly by his vehicle. Game 5 has just finished, the Celtics have won three straight and are up 3-2 in the conference finals, heading back to Boston for game 6. James hears a voice behind him.
Pat Riley: “LeBron, LeBron, slow up”
Riley jogs and catches up to James.
Pat Riley: “Great job tonight, hey it’s just one game”
LeBron James: “That was a pretty big game tonight, now we have to win in their house”
Pat Riley: “They’re house, our house…” (Riley looks over his shoulder._ “It’s not like our fans are that great”
LeBron James: “I just don’t get it, I scored 30 points tonight” (throws up his arms) “I got mine!”
Pat Riley: “You sure did buddy, it wasn’t your fault. It was the referees, they need to call more fouls and put you on the free throw line where you are most comfortable”
LeBron James: “What did you just say?”
Pat Riley: “About the refs?”
LeBron James: “No, before that”
(Pat Riley looks into LeBron’s eyes, then wipes a tear away from his cheek)
Pat Riley: “It’s not your fault”
(Pat Riley embraces LeBron, tears are flowing down James face)
Pat Riley: “It’s not your fault, It’s not your fault, It’s not your fault, It’s not your fault, It’s not your fault…”
….and FADE OUT
